BELMONTE CASTLE

Hello Salusbury Primary School,

Today we have gone to Belmonte, a village near Cuenca. There we have visited the castle where we have learned its history and played some Medieval games.

Here you have some pictures:

Hola El Carmen School. We are back from the half term break and happy to get back in touch with you.

We had a look at the photos from your trip to Belmonte Castle. It looks like a very interesting place to visit. We have a few questions we would like to ask you about the Castle:

1. Does anyone live there at all?
2. Did any famous King or Queen live there in the past?
3. What are the views like from the castle?
4. Was there a knight?
5. Were the swards we saw in the pictures made of metal or any other material?
6. What games did you play?

Hasta pronto!

Hello Salusbury School. We are very happy you liked our trip. Here you have our answers to your questions:

1. Anybody lives in the castle now but in the past El Marqués de Villena, la Princesa Juana y el Bufón Pepón lived there.
2. Any King or Queen lived there in the past.
3. From the castle we could see the village, Belmonte.
4. There were two knights who showed us the castle.
5. The swards you saw in the pictures were made of metal and wood.
6. We played many games but our favourite ones were archery and bowling.

See you!!

Hello El Carmen. Many thanks for answering our questions. Maybe one day we can visit the castle!

EXPERIMENT

Hello Salusbury School,

As you know, we are studying plants. This week we have put some leaves in a glass with red water. Some days later we saw how our leaves changed their colour. They were red too!!!!! This is because they absorbed red water!!!!

These are the pictures:

By the way, our plants have not started growing yet...... :(   We will inform you when they germinate.

PLANT A LITTLE SEED

Here is the song we have been learning these days. It is related to plants and its title is "Plant a little seed". We hope you like it.

We are also studying how some baby animals are called. This is the song we learned:

ANIMALS HAVE BABIES

DESCRIBING ANIMALS

This week we are learning how to describe some animals building correct sentences. So, we used cards in order to create sentences on the floor. Jake helped us too saying the sentences we had to "write" with the cards on the carpet.

BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR. EL CARMEN SCHOOL

Hello Salusbury School.

These days we are reading the book "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?". It is the same book you are reading in your Spanish classes. We have coloured the pictures of all the characteres in the story and we have learned how to describe the animals' physical appearance.
